Execution management systems (EMS) provider FlexTrade has hired a former long-standing Bloomberg Tradebook executive to lead its business development for its foreign exchange platform.
Paul Beatty has been appointed director of FX business development at FlexTrade in New York, and joins the firm from FX technology and institutional electronic communications network (ECN) platform provider Spotex.
“With his solid background from the financial technology industry and 20 years of experience in the FX market, Paul will be a great added value to the global team,” said Manish Kedia, managing director at FlexTrade in Singapore. “This demonstrates our strong commitment to invest in our team and trading solutions, and constantly expand and have local presence in different parts of the world.”
Prior to Spotex, Beatty previously worked as a director at TP ICAP, and also spent 17 years as global managing director of Tradebook FX at Bloomberg. At Bloomberg, he played a strategic role in launching the firm’s electronic anonymous FX trading platform.
“I am proud to be part of a successful global company and I am looking forward to work with the global FX team and contribute to FlexTrade’s continued developments, whilst delivering the outstanding service and innovative solutions that clients need in order to support their strategic goals,” said Beatty.
