Jefferies has appointed a former executive director from Morgan Stanley to expand its equities presence in Continental Europe.
Johannes Kirchmeir has been appointed head of Continental Europe execution services at Jefferies. Based in Frankfurt, he will be responsible for working alongside the investment banking and advisory services divisions to expand on the firm’s gains in the execution space with clients on the continent.
He joins the bank after most recently serving as an executive director at Morgan Stanley for the last eight years.
Previously in his career, Kirchmeir also operated in sales trading roles for the equities markets across JP Morgan, UniCredit Markets and Investment Banking, and Nomura Securities for around another eight years, collectively.
He joins a team of 40 sales and trading executives serving Jefferies’ Continental Europe client base.
His is the third senior appointment to be made by Jefferies in the last few weeks after it also appointed two new individuals to bolster its UK investment banking division.
Industry veteran Philip Yates was appointed vice chairman within its UK investment banking division while former Credit Suisse executive, Thomas Blackmore, joined as the bank’s new head of its institutional business for its investment banking debt capital markets (DCM) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
