Former NLX director joins consultancy

Stuart Deel-Smith previously served as head of market structure and product development at NLX.

Stuart Deel-Smith, a former director at Nasdaq NLX, has joined derivatives consultancy firm Vanna Consulting.

Deel-Smith previously served as head of market structure and product development at NLX, where he developed its TED Spread order book and was part of the exchange’s attempt to file a patent on a swaps future product.

He was also a central figure to the launch of Nasdaq NLX in 2013.

He was put on redundancy risk in April alongside Darren Butler, director of business development, and Tony Bryans, director of onboarding, according to reports, as Charlotte Crosswell, former CEO of Nasdaq NLX, moved to become a strategic advisor for the exchange.

The exchange is now headed by Victoria Kent and Carl Slesser.

Deel-Smith becomes the latest high profile move from the exchange and sell-side world to consultancy.

Last week, The Trade Derivatives reported Chris Mitchell, former global head of derivatives clearing operations change at JP Morgan, left to set up his own consultancy, Solutions4Clearing.

Last month, Brendan Bradley, Eurex’s former head of product strategy and innovation management, left to explore a new career in FinTech.
