Greenwich Dealing promotes equity trader to head of trading

New head of trading has served as an equity trader at Greenwich for the past four years.

Outsourced trading desk, Greenwich Dealing, has internally promoted Germain Carton as its new head of trading, according to an update on his social media page.

Carton has worked as an equity trader at the firm for the last four years. Greenwich Dealing did not respond to a request for comment.

Prior to joining Greenwich in 2018, Carton spent three years with OTCex as an equity and exchange traded funds (ETFs) sales trader, six months at GFI Group as an index derivatives broker and a year and a half at BNP Paribas in a corporate finance role.

His appointment follows several other outsourced trading focused moves in the market recently as this industry trend continues to accelerate.

In the last six months, the former global head of trading at Morgan Stanley Investment Management departed to join UBS’ new outsourced trading desk, Execution Hub, and StoneX appointed a 30-year hedge fund trader, formerly global head of trading at Soros Fund Management, Steven Guihan, to its global macro desk as part of its outsourced trading offering in New York.
