Charles River Development – Charles River IMS

Charles River Investment Management Solution (IMS) is an end-to-end solution to automate front- and middle-office investment management functions, including data, system operation and management hosting, FIX network and enterprise software. It offers full multi-asset class support across equities, fixed income, FX, futures, options and OTC derivatives. It offers spreadsheet-like modelling and portfolio construction tools and order and execution management.

The system can be deployed via desktop, web browser, or iPad/Android devices. Sourcing options include licenced, managed off-premise and hosted by Charles River as software-as-a-service.

Functionality

The order and execution management system (OEMS) is
designed to eliminate multiple systems and fragmented workflows that can arise
when using multiple systems. Execution capabilities include algorithmic
trading, real-time market data, execution analytics, integration with pre- and
post-trade transaction cost analysis services, program trading, direct market
access and automated order routing.

Data

The system provides real-time market and exchange
data as well as aggregated security reference, pricing, issuer and benchmark
data and incorporates it into the system to further streamline trading
processes.

Workflow

The IMS automates compliance workflows throughout
the trade lifecycle and centralises real-time compliance monitoring. It can
calculate and analyse multi-asset and multi-currency measurement and
attribution data on an account-specific basis in real-time. The system can
automatically route orders and allocations to appropriate counterparties in
real-time.

PM tools

The IMS
consolidates all portfolio management activity into a central workshop with
top-down asset allocation and model building tools to give visibility of trade
execution.

Future plans

Charles River Development continuously enhance the
IMS and planned developments include improving fixed income portfolio
management, execution management, performance measurement and attribution, and
risk and position keeping functionality.
