CIMB provides pan-Asian program trading (PT) capabilities to a diverse range of regional and global clients utilising its proprietary algorithmic trading suite and experienced trading team. A key differentiator for CIMB is its strong Association of South East Nations (ASEAN) franchise and extensive regional network. CIMB has a quant and trading research product and offers direct execution capabilities in all major regional markets ex-Japan.

CIMB has a mature participating dealer capability in Malaysia and has recently expanded activities to Singapore and Hong Kong.

Liquidity

CIMB offers clients a combined regional coverage
model as well as an integrated trading desk whilst maintaining client anonymity
as required. The PT desk is able to take full advantage of block liquidity from
regional sales trading teams.

CIMB’s PT desk’s exchange-traded fund (ETF) activities are
at an early stage of development. The firm is focused on a targeted series of
ETFs.

Tools

CIMB provides monthly liquidity and thematic
research covering Asian market microstructure, market liquidity tools and
bespoke transaction cost analysis (TCA) services.

CIMB trades on behalf of transition managers leveraging
its PT capabilities combined with its ASEAN liquidity and relevant advanced
trading analytics.

Capital commitment

Where required, CIMB can provide selected
guaranteed pricing options.

Post-trade

CIMB is able to provide a single counterparty and,
where beneficial, can offer direct counterparty services.

Future plans

CIMB has focused on building coverage across Asia’s
developed and emerging markets. Its expansion will continue to include coverage
across frontier markets as well as an execution only capability in the US and
Europe.

CIMB will enhance its PT product through evolving its
algorithmic trading and advanced analytics capabilities and will continue to
develop a dark liquidity strategy.
