FlexTrade Systems
FlexTQM offers buy- and sell-side institutions real-time and historical transaction cost analysis for both portfolios and single stocks. Users can analyse trader performance, algorithm performance and strategy performance over daily, monthly and yearly cycles, and view any deviation of realised costs using benchmarks, including algorithm-specific benchmarks.
Asset classes and markets
FlexTQM is configured to handle global equity as well as some derivatives in Asia, the Americas and EMEA. Transaction data comes in from the FlexTRADER execution management system and client order management systems.
Benchmarks
FlexTQM’s proprietary tick database provides more than 80 measures relevant to equity activity. Standard benchmarks include open, close, VWAP and previous close. It will display the sources of trading costs in real-time and historically, from standards such as impact, opportunity cost and implementation shortfall to in-demand tick-based figures such as “windowed” weighted average prices and cost attributions.
Reporting options
Reporting options are available real-time in CSV, Excel and PDF formats. There are options to see all orders, summaries (by broker, broker algo, trader) via multiple benchmarks. It can also value the portfolios and stocks with the currency conversion.
Consultancy services
FlexTrade provides a 5 1/2 x 24-hour support desk staffed by a team of experienced software developers and engineers. The support group often works with complex client issues involving integration and functionality for client proprietary trading models. On-site client training is available and the application itself has a range of embedded tutorials.
Pre-trade analysis
FlexTQM runs pre-trade analysis to estimate costs and provide an optimised strategy prior to entering the market. The application shows how the trader has historically traded that stock. In addition the trader sees how the firm has traded orders with similar characteristics.
Future plans
FlexTrade has included an Algorithm Selector with its execution management system. This function allows traders to profile a stock or a list of stocks and then use the Algo Selector tool to recommend the best way to trade based on pre-set criteria, historical cost and trader objectives.
