Haynes becomes chair of Neonet board

CEO and founder of Aquis Exchange, Alasdair Haynes, has been appointed as non-executive chairman of agency broker Neonet Securities.

CEO and founder of Aquis Exchange, Alasdair Haynes, has been appointed as non-executive chairman of agency broker Neonet Securities.

Haynes has served on the board of Neonet since February 2013 and takes over the role of chairman from Peter Melbi.

He founded Aquis Exchange, a pan-European multilateral trading facility offering a telecoms-style subscription pricing, in October 2012 and the exchange went live in November last year.

Prior to setting up Aquis, Haynes was CEO of Chi-X Europe. He has also worked in senior positions at ITG, HSBC and UBS.

John Ashdown, managing partner at Hay Tor Capital, which co-owns Neonet, said: “Both KAS Bank and Hay Tor Capital are delighted that Alasdair has agreed to chair the board of Neonet Securities. His appointment as chairman is subject to approval by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
