IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) has promoted Ben Jackson to lead the exchange group’s acquisition and joint venture strategy.
The appointment caps a busy period of M&A for the exchange group, which concluded in the takeover of Interactive Data last month for $5.2 billion - the second largest deal in ICE’s history.
Jackson is the outgoing president of ICE Futures US and will be replaced by Trabue Bland as part of a reshuffle of key managerial positions.
Both Jackson and Blaund – who was previously ICE’s vice president of regulation - will take up their respective roles from the beginning of February.
Ben Jackson, the outgoing president of ICE Futures US, will become chief commercial officer and will be responsible for the entirety of the group’s M&A strategy.
Lynn Martin, president and COO of ICE Data Services, will be given additional responsibility for Interactive Data.
Jeffrey Sprecher, chairman and CEO of ICE, said the promotions show the company’s commitment to delivering its strategic and financial objectives.
He added: “…They reflect the contributions of these leaders in serving our customers in an evolving landscape, while establishing the next phase of our company’s growth.”
