The US arm of agency broker Instinet has added Favus Institutional Research, an independent research provider that focuses on the healthcare industry, to its Instinet Access programme.

Instinet Access, which was launched in 2004, is designed to increase sales and account coverage for companies that supply research to the broker's institutional client base.

Favus will become the seventh independent research provider to join Instinet Access and will benefit from the broker's sales and marketing services. Favus provides fundamental analysis relating to commercial, clinical, legal, reimbursement and regulatory catalysts in the healthcare industry.

“Favus delivers a unique offering in the healthcare research space that will enhance our ability to help our clients in the alpha generation process,” added Jonathan Kellner, president of the Americas at Instinet.

“Instinet's sophisticated trading platform and agency-only model make it a natural partner for us,” said Elliot Favus, CEO at Favus, and a former Och-Ziff and Lazard research analyst. “I am eager to combine our research product with Instinet’s sales and trading capabilities.”
