Instinet has announced it is to incorporate US equity research used by Nomura’s clients onto its execution platform in the Americas.
The agency broker will integrate US equity research and US research sales for a “boutique-style content offering”, meaning users will have access to both Instinet and Nomura research.
Jonathan Kellner, chief executive officer at Instinet explained Nomura has provided the firm with “a great framework to evolve our equity offering”.
He added: “[It] allows us to partner with our clients more effectively in the investment and alpha-generation process.”
Head of global markets research for Nomura in the Americas Penn Egbert, said the move will “create a differentiated model that puts the power of our research ideas together with Instinet.”
Egbert said the company’s clients will “benefit from the complementary strengths of the teams, and a client-focused equities product with scale and reach.”
The integration is subject to regulatory approval.
