Securities markets operator the International Securities Exchange (ISE) has announced that both its options exchange and stock exchange set company-wide records for daily trading volumes last Thursday, 16 August.
Over 6.5 million equity, index and FX options contracts were traded on ISE's options exchange, surpassing the previous record of 6,226,821 contracts set on 27 July 2007. ISE also reached a new volume record for index options of 243,572 contracts compared to their previous record of 212,447 contracts traded on 8 August 2007. Trading volume on the ISE stock exchange reached 77,439,600, exceeding the previous record of 53,233,000 set on 9 August 2007.
