John Gammer has been appointed head of sales at Eurex Clearing, the clearing house of international derivatives exchange Eurex, effective 1 November 2007. Gammer will be based in London reporting to Thomas Book, executive board member for clearing.
Eurex Clearing received the status as recognised overseas clearing house from the UK regulator Financial Services Authority (FSA) earlier this year and aims to expand its equity clearing services to provide customers access to the relevant markets in Europe, says the firm.
Gammer joins Eurex from LCH.Clearnet where he focused on relations with Euronext.liffe. He previously held management positions in exchange-traded derivatives operations with Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers.
