Jones Trading, a US institutional agency brokerage, has named industry veteran Andrew Tuthill as managing director and head of its capital markets group. As a member of the firm’s executive committee, Tuthill will report to chairman and CEO Packy Jones.

Tuthill has 17 years’ experience in investment banking, trading and equity capital markets. Most recently, he was headed the equity capital markets group at Thomas Weisel Partners. Prior to that, he was managing director with the equity capital markets team at UBS Investment Bank and has also held a senior position at J.P. Morgan.

“We have a deep bench of experts in each of our groups who apply our unconflicted agency model to the products we offer. Andrew Tuthill will build and expand on the success we have already established for the capital markets,” said Jones.

“Clients will continue to seek alternatives that allow them to raise capital at advantageous prices. Jones Trading’s capital markets group is designed to bring clients that alternative, and I look forward to helping JonesTrading build this important part of their franchise,” said Tuthill.
