LCH appoints former Soc Gen, JPM post-trade head to lead equities

Former Societe Generale head of sales and relationship management appointed to lead equities business.

London-based clearinghouse LCH has appointed Alex Krunic to the position of head of equities.

A spokesperson for LCH confirmed the appointment to The TRADE, stating that Krunic assumed the role on 1 May.

Taking on responsibility for EquityClear’s strategy within LCH and managing relationships with clearing members and trading venues, Krunic will report to Bruce Kellaway, global head of RepoClear, Collateral and head of EquityClear.

Krunic joins LCH from Societe Generale where he held the position of head of sales and relationship management within the bank’s global broker dealer services division since December 2016.

He previously held roles at Green River Capital Consulting, National Settlement Depository, Citi and JP Morgan.

The clearinghouse saw record volumes in 2018 across its equities, fixed income and OTC derivatives clearing services, with year-on-year increases driven by new products and a growth in client clearing.
