Orc Software, a global trading technology provider, has released Orc Spreader, a server-based, low-latency, high frequency solution for futures spread trading.

Orc Spreader, part of the firm’s Orc Trading for Arbitrage solution suite, was developed in 2008 in collaboration with futures spread traders. It uses Orc Trading’s algorithmic trading engine and market connections along with built-in futures spread trading logic.

According to Orc, its new tool will appeal to latency sensitive futures spread traders by reducing hung trades and scaling with their growing businesses.

“Orc’s futures spread trading solution has proven faster than other products we have tried,” said Chris Snyder, head of trading at Fox Trading in Chicago, in a statement. “We are able to capture opportunities that we once lost and mitigate our risk in fast moving markets.” ?

“Orc Spreader gives traders a unique tool for low-latency spread trading,” added Joacim Wiklander, vice president of product management at Orc Software. “Over the past year, we have worked extensively with the most latency sensitive traders to deploy a tool for advanced futures spreading. Futures traders are now able to reduce their hung trades and be more successful with the quickly-deployable Orc Spreader.”
