People Moves Monday: Pictet AM, Capitolis, and BMO Capital Markets

The past week has seen moves across the buy- and sell side, including both US and cash equities trading and capital marketplace execution.

Pictet Asset Management

Pictet Asset Management has appointed Harry Garcha as a US equity trader, based in London.

Garcha brings buy- and sell-side experience to his new role at the European asset manager, having initially stepped into capital markets a decade ago.

He joins Pictet after almost three years at Findlay Park Partners, where he served at a trader.

Last year, Garcha was named one of The TRADE’s Rising Stars of Trading and Execution, an award which celebrates the most promising up-and-coming buy-side talent in trading.

Prior to this, he also worked as an equity sales trader at investment bank ABG Sundal Collier for more than a year.

Garcha began his industry career as an analyst at RBC Capital Markets, a role he held for five years.

Capitolis

Tariq Aziz has joined Capitolis as a director and trader in capital marketplace execution, after a 10-year tenure at Deutsche Bank.

London-based Aziz will report to Mark Steer, senior director at Capitolis, in his new role on the trading desk.

Previously in his career, he worked in various different sectors at Deutsche Bank, spanning group management consulting, the capital release unit, treasury liquidity modelling and trading.

Aziz initially joined the sell-side bank in 2016, and most recently served as an agency securities lending trader, a role he held for almost four years.

BMO Capital Markets

Christopher Limentani has swapped the buy-side for the sell-side, joining BMO Capital Markets’ cash equities team in London.

Limentani is set to specialise in electronic trading in his new role, and joins the firm from investment and asset manager Devon Equity Management, where he spent almost seven years as head of trading.

Limentani brings more than 15 years of buy- and sell-side expertise to his position at BMO Capital Markets, and prior to his time at Devon Equity Management, served as an equity and derivatives trader at BlackRock for more than four years.

He has also served as an equities algorithmic and program trader at Rothschild & Co, a role he held for four years.

Earlier in his career, Limentani also worked across various cash equities-related roles at firms including Barclays Investment Bank and Goldman Sachs.
