SocGen announces new cash equity head

Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking has hired a senior trader from Deutsche Bank to lead its equity trading division.

Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking has hired a senior trader from Deutsche Bank to lead its equity trading division.

Howard Sherman, who was previously a senior trader covering pan-European equity trading in the financial, mining, oil and utilities sectors, joins the French bank as head of cash equity trading.

Prior to Deutsche Bank, Sherman has also held roles at Morgan Stanley, as executive director responsible for the banks daily trading, pricing and risk management of a portfolio of pan-European trading, media and telecommunications (TMT) shares, and at UBS, where he managed a range of trading books focused on TMT and banking stocks.

Sherman will be based in London and report to François Banneville, global head of execution services at SocGen.
