Jatin Vara has joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management as global head of trading, six months after departing from BlackRock, The TRADE understands.
London-based Vara began his new position in May 2026. A spokesperson for Goldman Sachs confirmed his appointment when approached by The TRADE.
Previously, Vara had served at BlackRock for 27 years and held several senior roles, most recently as co-head global trading alongside Daniel Veiner, who was named head of markets at the firm in July 2025.
Vara stepped into the global trading role following Supurna VedBrat’s departure in January 2023, after being promoted from his previous position leading international and emerging markets trading.

Speaking in an announcement on social media following his departure from BlackRock, Vara affirmed: “It has been a privilege to work, learn and build alongside so many talented & driven colleagues across the breadth of the firm. I’m deeply grateful for the experiences, the friendships, and the shared successes over nearly three decades.”
