Sova Capital veteran joins BCS Global Markets to head up prime services sales

Grigoriy Kozin joins BCS Global Markets as head of business development for prime service after more than a decade at Sova Capital as director of prime services.

Russian brokerage BCS Global Markets has appointed the former head of prime brokerage at Sova Capital to head up sales of its prime services division.

Grigoriy Kozin has been appointed head of business development for prime services at BCS Global based in London, where he will be responsible for developing the prime brokerage and securities financing business lines and revenue streams.

Kozin joins BCS from Sova Capital, formerly Otkritie Capital, where he served for over a decade most recently as director and head of prime services overseeing the prime brokerage, electronic execution, custody, and clearing across multiple asset classes.

“At BCS, we pride ourselves on bringing in the best talent available in our market, and I have no doubt that Grigoriy’s extensive product development coupled with his impressive industry and market knowledge will make him an invaluable addition to the team, and will help to further grow our Prime business,” said Tim Bevan, UK CEO and global head of prime services at BCS Global Markets.

Kozin’s appointment follows a series of senior new hires by BCS over the course of this year. In January, HSBC’s European credit trading head joined BCS as senior managing director and head of capital markets and investment banking.

More recently, the head of Russia equities at US investment bank Citi joined BCS as global head of equities in September and a former IT head for the corporate and investment bank at BNP Paribas joined BCS as chief operating officer for the investment bank business in October.
