T. Rowe Price has hired buy-side equities trader Richard Nelson as an equities dealer.
He will oversee trading in Australian and New Zealand listed securities. He will work with T. Rowe Price’s head of Australian equities, Randal Jenneke, and the firm’s regional trading team.
Commenting on his new job, Nelson said the dynamic nature of markets mixed with the rise of electronic trading has created complexities and challenges for dealers responsible for institutional trade execution.
“Some trading costs have fallen, yet others have grown, such as signaling risk, liquidity restraints and increased compliance,” he said.
In his previous role, Nelson worked at AllianceBernstein as head of EMEA Trading, where he specialised in European equities. He had moved to Europe in that capacity, having been located in Australia beforehand, where he was head of Australia/New Zealand dealing.
