Trading Technologies joins forces with Robinhood to expand institutional digital asset access

The integration becomes the first major traditional markets order and execution management system (OEMS) to connect directly to Bitstamp, extending the platform’s connectivity beyond predominantly crypto-native trading platforms.

Trading Technologies (TT) has integrated with Bitstamp by Robinhood, a crypto exchange offering spot and derivatives markets, giving institutional clients access to the crypto exchange’s digital asset markets through the TT platform.

Under the integration, market participants can now trade Bitstamp’s crypto spot and derivatives markets alongside futures, fixed income and FX within TT’s multi-asset platform.

Tomo Tokuyama, executive vice president and managing director, FX at TT, said: “Institutional trading desks want to access digital assets through TT with the execution tools, connectivity, workflows and risk controls they already use across other tradfi markets.

“Our integration with Bitstamp by Robinhood brings crypto-native spot and perpetual futures liquidity directly into the TT workflow alongside crypto derivatives, enabling clients to manage execution across asset classes from a single, familiar environment while maintaining the execution, risk management and operational efficiencies they rely on across their broader trading operations.”

Specifically, the partnership offers risk controls and unified post-trade workflows to firms expanding their digital asset operations, particularly in the Asia-Pacific and North America regions.

Nicola White, vice president of institutional crypto and general manager of Bitstamp by Robinhood, added: “Connecting with Trading Technologies continues our rapid expansion of institutional distribution partners.

“As a leading multi-asset trading platform with deep roots in traditional markets, TT extends our venue to a global network of sophisticated institutional traders, proprietary desks and buy-side firms.”

The news follows
Robinhood’s partnership with Ripple last week, which will expand institutional access to Ripple’s stablecoin, institutional markets and treasury management infrastructure, with Bitstamp also gaining access to these services.
