The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) is to launch its ”Next Tdex+ System' for futures and options trading, together with a third-generation system for the trading of stock and corporate bonds, on 21 November 2011.

The exchange also plans to simultaneously introduce a reduced noon recess for actuals and derivatives markets and partial revision to trading time, including the extension of the evening session for derivatives.

The TSE plans to shorten its 90-minute lunch break to one hour – 11.30-12.30 – a measure TSE president Atsushi Saito predicted would increase trading by around 6%.

The TSE recently listed its first depository receipts based on overseas securities, in August 2011.
