UBS’ head of global markets, Jason Barron, is set to take on an expanded role at UBS as AI transformation officer for the investment bank.
The role, which Barron steps into effective immediately, will support the implementation of UBS’ AI strategy across its investment banking franchise, spanning client activity, core processes and day-to-day decisions.
According to an internal memo seen by The TRADE, his expanded position will “drive this change at pace and with discipline across the franchise – setting clear direction, scaling what works, removing barriers, promoting the sharing of best practice and ensuring the right tools and data are in your hands.”
London-based Barron will leverage his previous experience in large-scale transformation, execution and client outcomes to support his new responsibilities.
