UBS hires outsourced sales-focused director

New executive director has previously held positions at Luminex, Liquidnet and The Boston Company.

UBS has appointed Brian Williamson as an executive director within the execution hub sales team, according to an internal memo seen by The TRADE.

He joins from Luminex where he most recently served as head of sales. In this new role Williamson is set to be dedicated to outsourced sales solutions, with a focus on accelerating the business’ distribution efforts, The TRADE understands.

He will reportedly work both internally and externally with the aim of continuing to expand UBS’ trading solutions platform.

Throughout his three decades in the industry, Williamson has held various buy-side trading and sales roles, including at Liquidnet and The Boston Company.

Speaking in the internal announcement, Jonathan Slavin, managing director, execution hub Americas at UBS, said: “We are excited to leverage Brian’s extensive industry network and experience of building distribution in new, innovative businesses as we further expand the client base for execution hub.”
