New hire brings more than a decade of buy- and sell-side experience to his new role at the technology-focused investment manager, including trading-based positions at Goldman Sachs.

American investment manager Coatue Management has named Colin Cortes as its new head of trading and risk.

Cortes brings more than 15 years of capital markets experience to his new role, spanning both the buy- and sell-side.

He joins from Junto Capital Management, where he spent almost nine years as a trader.

Prior to this, he held various roles at Goldman Sachs, initially joining as an analyst within the firm’s securities division in 2011.

Cortes later moved into an equity sales trading role, which he held for three years, before stepping into an equity derivatives sales-based position.
