Auerbach Grayson, a New York-based institutional brokerage, has hired J. Patrik Dahlen to oversee the expansion of its Nordic institutional sales team.

In his new role as senior vice president of Nordic sales, Dahlen will work closely with Auerbach Grayson’s Nordic broking partner Danske Market Equities, a subsidiary of Danish firm Danske Bank.

Danske Market Equities has provided the brokerage’s institutional clients with local equity research and trade execution across the Nordic region since 2000.

Dahlen has over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, most recently as senior vice president of institutional equity sales at French brokerage Credit Agricole Cheuvreux. Prior to this role, he was senior vice president of institutional equity Nordic sales at Kaupthing Securities.

“We are delighted to have someone with Patrik’s experience and expertise in institutional Nordic sales direct operations for our Nordic equities business,” said David Grayson, managing director of Auerbach Grayson. “His extensive knowledge of the region makes him the ideal candidate to further cultivate our relationship with Danske Markets Equities, as they look to further expand their reach among US institutional investors.”

Auerbach Grayson has established a global network by forming partnerships with local brokers that provide its institutional clients with equity research. The firm currently covers around 128 developed, emerging and frontier equity markets globally.

“Our partnership with Auerbach Grayson has enabled Danske Markets Equities to expand its global business by developing strong relationships with some of the largest US financial institutions,” said Henrik Voetmann Mikkelsen, global head of equities at Danske Markets Equities.
