Trading technology provider Bloomberg Trading Solutions has launched Bloomberg Hedge Fund Tool Box (HBOX), a platform which offers fund managers and traders tools for a range of front- and back-office functions.

HBOX provides support for electronic trading and order management, risk and compliance, straight-through-processing trade settlement and portfolio analysis. It also offers simplified oversight of strategy management for equity, fixed income and FX.

Users can access Bloomberg's global, multi-asset execution management system, EMSX, as well as Bloomberg Tradebook, the firm's agency broker.

The product connects to all major prime brokers and administrators, provides compliance and audit reporting, pre-integrated data and execution tools plus real-time profit and loss and exposures across 65 countries globally.

“We chose Bloomberg's HBOX model for a few reasons, but what we really liked was that we had access to the many order management system features included with HBOX through the Bloomberg terminal, so there is no need to install new hardware or software,” Marc Robert, chief operating officer of

US specialist investment advisor, Water Asset Management.

“HBOX lets hedge funds focus on investing and client relationships, rather than on regulations and operations,” said Dan Matthies, global head, Asset and Investment Manager, Bloomberg.
