Direct Edge ECN has made its market data available on the Bloomberg Market Maker Activity page, which is part of the Bloomberg Professional service.

The service identifies which market makers are handling the most volumes of block and non-block trades for selected securities. It will also display the percentages of trading volume by each market maker for selected Nasdaq securities over a specified period.

This will allow Direct Edge clients to provide their EDGA and EDGX volumes to Bloomberg to be aggregated with trading volumes across other marketplaces.

“As Direct Edge’s volume grows, our customers are becoming more interested in receiving recognition for their order flow,” said Bryan Harkins, head of sales and strategy, Direct Edge, in a statement. “For our customers who want anonymity, we will continue to provide it. But for those customers who want analysts, investors, and issuers to recognise the liquidity they’re providing, it is important that we report their data to Bloomberg.”
