Eurex to expand single-stock futures range

Thursday brought the news that international derivatives exchange Eurex plans to launch around 170 new single-stock futures between October 2007 and February 2008. The new futures will be introduced on stocks listed on the Dow Jones STOXX 600, RDXxt USD and S&P 500 indices in eight blocks of up to 40 futures each.

From February 2008 Eurex will also extend contracts for all single-stock futures by an additional calendar month, while the maximum term will remain unchanged. With the new launches, Eurex will be offering single-stock futures on more than 570 equities from 18 countries in four currencies. For the first time, single-stock futures on Norwegian equities in EUR will be traded. Eurex will also extend its product offering with a new currency by launching single-stock futures on major US equities in USD.
