The Transaction Auditing Group (TAG), a provider of transaction cost analysis, has hired David Shapiro to the position of executive vice president of sales and business development.

Shapiro joins from the transaction analytics division of data vendor Thomson Reuters, where he led the firm's business development, sales and relationship management.

His experience spans execution quality, transaction cost analysis and the development and implementation of trading compliance systems.

“This is an exciting time to be joining TAG's management team as increased regulation and growing market complexity have greatly heightened the demand for a true performance measurement of trade execution by both the brokerage and investment management community,” said Shapiro.

In addition to Thomson Reuters, Shapiro has also worked at DNS Corp, a business development, account management and sales consultancy specialising in compliance and trading solutions for the securities industry. He also served as an executive vice president at TAG earlier in his career, where he played a role in driving the firm's growth.
