London Stock Exchange-owned index provider FTSE is to provide data through an online platform to help institutional investors gain greater insight into the way indices are used by exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The platform, TrackInsight, is operated by Koris International, an investment advisory firm, and a partnership between Koris and FTSE will offer information and education of FTSE, FTSE MTS ad Russell Indices that are tracked by ETFs.

Users will benefit from detail information on index weighting, methodology, historical index returns and exposure analysis.

The two firms also plan to collaborate on education initiatives to improve understanding of qualitative and quantitative aspects of European ETFs.

Jean-René Giraud, co-founder and CEO of Koris, said: “This agreement represents a major step forward for the institutional investor community who have been calling for greater transparency and information on the indices associated with investment products. The Exchange-Traded Fund market continues to mature and develop in Europe and we look forward to working with FTSE on this important initiative.”
