Horizon Software rehires Societe Generale engineer

Francis Leclerc spent five years with Societe Generale developing the bank’s equity finance and prime brokerage systems and activities.

Electronic and algorithmic trading services provider Horizon Software has appointed a regional manager for North America from Societe Generale.

Francis Leclerc rejoins Horizon after five years at Societe Generale as a software development team lead for equity finance and prime brokerage activities.

He spent eight years prior to this with Horizon Software where he played a key role in establishing the company’s presence in both Thailand and Asia. Leclerc has more than 20 years’ experience in investment banking, focusing mainly on software development, financial engineering and business analysis.

“With his experience of working in multinationals in Paris, London, Asia and Canada, combined with his deep knowledge of software development for front and back offices, I am confident that Francis is ideally-positioned to continue supporting our international success by leading our North American operations,” said Sylvain Thieullent, CEO of Horizon.

Last month, European private equity firm Capzanine became a majority shareholder in Horizon Software alongside Thieullent and its management team to support the firm’s global growth.

Partner at Capazanine, Benoit Choppin, explained that the team at Horizon Software are looking to expand into Asia-Pacific and the Americas, develop services for new asset classes and reinforce its position in France.

“Horizon has been successful since its launch two decades ago, with exceptional global growth and an ever-increasing number of financial institutions around the world choosing its technology,” Leclerc commented. “I am delighted to come back to work with such an effective team of specialists dedicated to giving our clients the best technology and service.”
