JWG-IT Group Ltd, a technology think-tank that covers EU regulatory change, and Eukleia Training Ltd, a compliance training company, have formed a partnership to provide Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) related training.

The aim is to combine the expert training capabilities and resources of Eukleia with JWG-ITs in-depth knowledge of the operational impacts of MiFID to design and deliver a range of courses addressing a comprehensive set of MiFID- related subjects. The first classroom based course will be delivered in February 2007.

“Over the last six months, we have had a number of approaches from organisations looking for training assistance, but we felt that, while we were focused on developing our core analysis material and MiFID Market Models, we would not be in a position to help,” says PJ Di Giammarino, CEO of JWG-IT. “Working with Eukleia means that we can leverage our material and expertise and deliver it to the market in new ways. We were particularly attracted to working with Eukleia for the depth of experience that they bring from many years of providing compliance training to a wide range of financial institutions.”

Patrick Thompson, Managing Director of Eukleia adds that his organization is developing a range of MiFID training materials. “The scope of MiFID has an impact across a wide range of operational, systems and other functional areas in addition to core compliance,” he says. “We therefore believe that working with a specialist partner will produce training that is relevant to a wider audience, and is also more effective, since it can cut across these traditional functional boundaries. JWG-IT has established itself as the thought-leader in the MiFID space and its work with leading financial institutions has generated an enormous range of analysis material, implementation tools and a keen understanding of the operational implications that MiFID will have.”

Established in January 2006, JWG-IT is an independent think-tank that believes that MiFID, like most EU regulation, could be implemented quicker, cheaper, better and with less risk through collaboration across the technology value chain. It works with technical experts from its membership to identify practical options which facilitate the adoption of appropriate, affordable and advanced IT solutions to regulatory-driven change.

Eukleia Training Ltd provides classroom and elearning training services to the financial services industry. Founded in 2004 by a group of directors with over 40 years of collective compliance training experience, Eukleia has developed an extensive catalogue of generic courses.
