Numis Securities US international sales trading head joins Peel Hunt

New hire will serve as an equity sales trader, and also previously worked at JP Morgan Chase, First Boston and Salomon Brothers.

Peel Hunt has made a hire into its US equities division, appointing Paul Treacy as an equity sales trader.

Treacy joins the firm based in New York, and brings more than forty years of equity markets experience to his new role, where he is set to bolster Peel Hunt’s trading offering.

Speaking on his appointment, Treacy said: “I am delighted to be joining Peel Hunt at an exciting point within the business. We have a great team in New York, and I look forward to bringing my experience across international trading desks to help build our presence further.”

Prior to joining Peel Hunt, he spent more than two decades at Numis Securities where he most recently headed up the firm’s US international sales trading.

Before this, he also worked across financial sector trading at JP Morgan Chase for seven years, as well as two years as a UK equity trader at First Boston.

Treacy gained early career experience as a European equity trader at Salomon Brothers, where he worked for more than nine years.

Steven Fine, chief executive at Peel Hunt, commented: “[Treacy] is an outstanding addition to our equities team and represents a significant investment in our North American distribution capabilities.

“As we continue to expand our international reach, his appointment reinforces our commitment to delivering differentiated research, corporate access and execution services to clients on both sides of the Atlantic.”
