trade MONSTER, the online brokerage subsidiary of financial media firm optionMONSTER, has implemented technology firm Aleri’s complex event processing (CEP) software.

trade MONSTER, an online brokerage for self-directed investors that launched in 2008, will use Aleri’s CEP engine on its trading platform to power market charts, trade analytics and alerting services. It will also use CEP applications to customise analysis of real-time data.

“Aleri CEP is an essential piece of optionMONSTER’s vision to bring professional-grade information, tools, and technology to the retail investor,” said Dirk Mueller, co-founder and CEO of optionMONSTER. “The advanced language and tools, and enterprise-class availability allowed us to deploy the rich, scalable, always-on market and trade analytics services our customers require.”

“Aleri’s CEP software was better for optionMONSTER than other comparable products due to ease of use, extensible library support, and real-time query mechanism that fits well with our sophisticated push architecture in the browser” said Sanjib Sahoo, vice president, technology of optionMONSTER. “The Continuous Computation Language and the clustering features will ensure that we can quickly build and launch a powerful event stream processor.”
