Todd Prado has been named global head of equity dealing at buy-side firm First State Investments, part of Colonial First State, the asset management business of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group.

He replaces Matt McKeith, who left the firm in May, and will work out of the firm's Singapore office, reporting to David Dixon, Colonial First State's chief investment officer.

Prado will be responsible for managing a team of 10 specialists, with five based in the UK, four in Asia and one in Australia.

He joins from Janus Capital Group, the US-based buy-side firm, where he worked from July 2000 until May of this year, most recently as director of Asian trading based in Singapore.

Prior to his role at Janus, Prado worked as a trader at Fidelity Investments and as a currency options broker at Cantor Fitzgerald.
