BNY ConvergEx Group, a provider of agency brokerage and investment technology solutions, has appointed Stephen Wontner as head of sales for ConvergEx Global Markets (formerly known as G-Port). Stephen, who is based in London, will be responsible for sales of global agency brokerage services to the institutional investment community in Europe. He will report to Anthony Blumberg, President of ConvergEx Global Markets, who is based in New York.
With more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry, Stephen joins ConvergEx Global Markets from E*Trade where he managed business development of execution services to institutional and hedge fund clients. Prior to E*Trade, Stephen spent five years at Commerzbank Securities on the European equity sales team utilising his knowledge of the UK fund management industry to sell electronic trading and dynamic swaps.
