TORA taps State Street for new director of sales

Incoming sales director previously served at State Street, Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters and will focus on expanding TORA’s business in the US.

Trading technology provider TORA has tapped State Street for its new director of sales, based in New York.

Alex Findlay joins TORA after serving at State Street for the last six and a half years as its vice president and sales and relationship manager for its FX Connect service across various regions including EMEA and most recently, North America.

Prior to joining State Street in 2016, Findlay spent two years at Bloomberg as a technical account manager for clients of the B-PIPE Enterprise Market Data feed and spent another four-and-a-half-year stint at State Street in FX trade operations focused roles. He began his career at Thomson Reuters as a market analyst.

“I’ve seen in my career just how important technology can be in enabling both buy- and sell- side institutions to capitalise on changing market dynamics,” said Findlay in a statement.

His appointment at TORA follows the London Stock Exchange Group’s (LSEG) acquisition of the firm earlier this year.

“As a part of the London Stock Exchange Group, we now have greater reach and capability to help institutions of all sizes benefit from the TORA all-in-one platform,” said Chris Jenkins, managing director at TORA.

“Alex’s years of experience with some of the largest names in finance will be invaluable as we move to accelerate our growth.”
