Charles River Development
Charles River IMS is a cross-asset, multi-currency front- and middle-office software suite consisting of five main modules on a single platform: Charles River Manager for decision support and portfolio management;
Charles River Compliance for pre-trade, in-trade, post-execution, and end-of-day compliance; Charles River Trader for order management, electronic trading and execution management; Charles River Post-Trade for post-trade processing; and Charles River Performance for performance measurement, attribution, and performance risk (PMAR).
Version 9 of the system provides full OMS and EMS capabilities on a consolidated platform. The product offers rich EMS capabilities at no extra cost to OMS clients. Additionally, these capabilities are available in hosted form.
Charles River IMS supports all asset classes, including: equities; fixed income; foreign exchange (FX); options; over-thecounter options; commodities; futures and complex derivatives, such as interest rate and credit default swaps (CDS) and swaptions, CDS/total return swap baskets, CDS index tranches, basis swaps and overnight index swaps, among others.
Connectivity and access
The Charles River Network provides access to hundreds of global liquidity venues, trading strategies, brokerdealers, algorithmic offerings, block trading desks, equity, fixed income and FX trading directly from the Charles River trading blotters.
The firm also provides access to over 40 algorithmic broker destinations and more than 400 individual algorithms, and has integrated with over 150 third-party trade and liquidity platforms.
An internet-based virtual private network capability offers secure, low-cost FIX connectivity for smaller firms or remote firms as a temporary solution during extended telco installations.
Algorithm support
Charles River deploys new or modified algorithms via a broker pack which can be imported in one step.
Transaction cost analysis
Charles River IMS integrates pre- and post-trade transaction cost analysis, and provides access to pre- and post-trade analytics from over a dozen providers.
Other services
The firm offers complete FIX administration. Additionally, it provides full hosting and application management of Charles River IMS (including EMS).
