Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has appointed Kevin Ho as managing director and head of futures in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ho will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for the firm’s growth plans for its futures business in the region. Ho joins from investment bank UBS, where he spent eight years in various senior prime services and futures roles, most recently as head of Asian futures.

“Kevin’s breadth of experience and expertise in the region is well aligned with the firm’s goal of developing a leading global futures franchise,” commented Ryan Bacher, head of prime services, Asia-Pacific, in a statement.

In addition, BarCap has also appointed Seng Mow Leong, another ex-UBS employee, to its futures product management team in Singapore. Leong will be charged with building up the firm’s futures electronic trading products in Asia-Pacific.
