Baton Systems hires FX expert from Credit Suisse

Aaron Ayusa joins Baton Systems as director of client success after nearly 11 years at Credit Suisse in the FX space.

Post-trade and blockchain technology provider Baton Systems has hired an FX technology expert from Swiss bank Credit Suisse as director of client success.

Ayusa joins Baton Systems after nearly 11 years with Credit Suisse, most recently as assistant vice president for cash products and metrics analysis.

In the role, he oversaw global FX initiatives and process improvements using robotics and technology. Prior to this, he was a senior analyst for prime swaps and FX operations at the bank.

At Baton Systems, Ayusa will help clients solve FX-related issues and focus on developing bespoke FX products, reporting to head of business development, Tucker Dona, based in New York.

“The FX settlement process for banks has always been challenging, especially when settling FX transactions in real-time and across jurisdictions,” said Ayusa. “I’m excited to join Baton, which is leveraging distributed ledger technology to disrupt the FX settlement process in a more efficient manner, reducing risk and increasing visibility of funding sources and obligations to better manage liquidity.”

This is the second senior appointment made by Baton Systems recently as the firm looks to expand its product offering. In December, the firm appointed Jerome Kemp, an industry specialist with 30 years of experience across Citi and JP Morgan, to support its growth into the foreign exchange space.

“As we continue to expand our client base, Aaron will be instrumental in supporting our customers and expanding our product offering,” added Dona.
