RBC Capital Markets has announced the appointments of Eric Olson and Ron Goldshmidt to its emerging markets trading platform in a bid to bolster its emerging markets business around the globe. Olson joins as managing director and head of emerging markets USA trading, Goldschmidt as director. Both will be based in New York.
Olson most recently worked with HSBC, where he was head of Latin American trading. Previous to that, he spent 11 years with Deutsche Bank in London, Moscow, Sao Paulo and New York. He has nearly two decades of experience in trading, building and managing emerging markets businesses.
Goldshmidt joins RBC Capital Markets recently from UBS, where he headed the firm’s local markets fixed income and derivatives trading operation, specialising in Latin America and Eastern Europe.
