Knight Capital Group, a US-based financial services group, has launched a fixed income service for investment advisors, hiring five ex-Morgan Stanley traders and relationship managers to lead the team. The new unit will operate within Knight Libertas, the firm’s fixed income business.

Knight Advisor Services will provide fixed income sales, trading and research capabilities to the investment advisor community. Clients of the service include broker-dealers who serve high net worth investors, endowments and foundations. The new team will trade investment-grade corporates, municipals and certificates of deposit, among other fixed income securities.

The team includes the hires of Joshua Zucker, managing director, who will lead credit trading and sales at Knight Advisor Services, having played a part in building Morgan Stanley’s Special Situations Group, and Bohn Vergari, director of registered investment advisor (RIA) sales, who held a similar position at Morgan Stanley.

Joseph Miller and Patrick Moore both join Knight Advisor Sales as vice president of credit sales and vice president of broker dealer sales respectively. Miller spent seven years at Morgan Stanley in fixed income sales, while Moore assisted Morgan Stanley’s broker-dealers and private bank clients with fixed income solutions. John Browning, who has also worked in wealth management sales for Oppenheimer & Co and UBS, as well as the RIA fixed income sales desk at Morgan Stanley, joins Knight Advisor Services as assistant vice president responsible for business development.
