SGX appoints new compliance head

The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has hired Glenn Seah as its new head of compliance, effective 7 February.

Seah will be responsible for ensuring SGX’s compliance with local and international regulations and best practices.

He will join SGX from Standard Chartered Bank, where he holds the position of regional head, wholesale banking compliance in Singapore and southeast Asia, covering corporate banking products and wholesale bank compliance in several Asia-Pacific countries.

Seah has already worked at SGX prior to his role at Standard Chartered. This included roles in legal and regulatory policy, as staff assistant to the CEO and as head of market surveillance and enforcement.

He has also served as a deputy public prosecutor and state counsel with the attorney general’s chambers, where he covered criminal law, cross-border mutual legal assistance and the revision of Singapore’s criminal laws and procedures.
