TraditionDATA, the data arm of interdealer broker Tradition, has hired a former senior sales executive at TP ICAP and CME Group’s NEX business to drive revenue growth for its Americas business.
Michael Kirby joins TraditionDATA as a senior member of the data sales team for the Americas and a member of the firm’s global sales team.
He has more than 30 years of industry experience in sales across the region having previously worked for almost 28 years at TP ICAP in various roles including senior vice president of information sales, head of the Americas and director of sales and business development.
Most recently, Kirby spent three years at CME Group’s NEX market data business as director of sales and business development.
“Michael is an important addition to TraditionDATA’s business in the Americas,” said James Watson, global head of sales at TraditionDATA. “His experience allows us to further build on the successful growth we have enjoyed in the region due to our innovative approach and granular commercial model.
“As the appeal of our model grows, Mike has joined us at a very exciting time as we continue to develop our data business globally.”
Kirby’s appointment comes as part of a series of new hires made by the firm in the last year as it looks to invest in the expansion of its client offering globally. In June last year, TraditionDATA made three senior new hires Jeffrey Maron, Jim Swanson and Nobuyuki Ikeda from IHS Markit, Bloomberg, and TP ICAP respectively.
As part of its offering expansion, the firm also made its interest rate swap and foreign exchange data products available on the Amazon Web Services Exchange cloud platform in November to better support the market’s migration away from Libor.
