The move is part of the firm’s continued push to bolster its Asia Pacific presence and strengthen its overall Global Markets platform.
The hire is set to expand the firm’s execution footprint; individual has previously worked at Instinet and UBS.
Individual has also previously worked at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank.
Individual has also previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs; move coincides with the firm’s head of public-side sales, EMEA, transition to become vice-chair of EMEA global markets.
Other investors include: JP Morgan, Citi, State Street, Morgan Stanley and UBS.
Individual joins from HSBC and is set to help drive the growth of the firm’s APAC equities.
Coupe left Barclays last year after nine years at the bank and also previously served at NICE Actimize, Redkite Financial Markets, FTEN, Turquoise and Ullink.
Incoming individual brings extensive industry experience, having previously held senior roles at Citi, Barclays and Credit Suisse.
Incoming individuals will assume vice president and senior director roles, based in Toronto and New York.
